Holography Workshop @Crashspace L.A.

During our visit to L.A. in May 2012 we paid a visit to the local hackerspace Crashspace and took part in Thomas Edward’s workshop on DIY-holography: “3D is all the rage in Hollywood, so now here is your chance to make your own 3D hologram!” After a short introduction on holography theory we were ready to make holograms in the makeshift darkroom and assemble hologram-holders cut on the in-house laser cutter.
Holography requires a lot of patience but in the end we were happy to bring home in total four fine holograms. Since the magic of 3D holography does not work on photos that well we will soon host a workshop in Rotterdam for you to make your own stunning holograms as well.
